After years of working with Ava as a model it was now time to create some senior portraits her.

Since she has modeled for me and our photography group several times, her senior portraits were going to start out as high school senior portraits, but then we crossed the line into a little bit of a model photoshoot.

Since this is who she is, and I love to capture who a person is in their senior portraits.

With three main locations in mind to create her senior portraits

First, we started at her home on the front porch. There we were able to create a very powerful portrait with a feel like The Godfather Part 2 movie poster https://i.pinimg.com/564x/65/2f/bd/652fbd37bf01957a3af087148a7ab9ae.jpg

After that we then went to the high school. You always need some cap and gown portraits created in front of the school that you spend so much time. I love to put the school in the background for some.

Oh and can’t forget the corner stone of school. But that 2010 when it was built must be changed!

And then we can’t forget the football field. Even though I always get with the principal at the school before I go, sometimes the field will be locked, and I can’t get on it. But not today, the gate was open.

I have two spots that I really love to work with...

The Score Board,

Even though today the sun and the wind were not cooperating with me. When I had Ava position to keep the sun off of her face the wind was blowing her hair hard into her face. So, I turned the light off and turned her into the sun and picked her head up. Having Ava close her eyes while setting this up.

And then press box.

And the wind was good for this portrait.

Then, to get a more personal feel to senior portraits,

I like to create something around a hobby. And since one of Ava’s hobbies is modeling, we went way down the road to Lake Jackson. This was a great connection since a couple of photoshoots she modeled for were downtown there. There we found a little outside café.

Since the café was open for business and kind of crowded, I switched to a long lens to keep the view angle narrow and not have to worry about people in the café.

Then we walked, for what seemed a few blocks, to another outside grill with some old gas pumps. This little grill was closed for the day, but the gas pumps were in an outside area that we could get to.

And then around the corner we found a nice wood fence to finish up these senior portraits.
