This is the photoshoot that I wait for every year. It’s the photoshoot with the largest props… full size and restored aircraft thanks to Robbie Vajdos down the road in Louise Texas.

One of the hardest things to work with during this photoshoot is to get the whole plane in the frame without getting other photographers or models in the frame too.

Now with saying that, I recalls that it’s long been rumored by some local photographers that I create some very risqué portraits. By looking at the photographs I create at these photoshoots you don’t see the other photographers and models that are around just out of frame. Or all the makeup artist that have all their stuff spread out in one of the hangers for this photoshoot.

If, while looking at my photographs, you were thinking it was just me and a client, then yeah, out of perspective a lot of my photographs do have a very risqué look to them. More than likely it’s one of the reasons you are looking at it.

A photograph doesn’t have a lot of options to command you to look at it... Some kind of way it has to get your attention. As William Mortensen said a picture must, by its mere arrangement, make you look at it. Then having looked – see! Then having seen – enjoy!

If you’re looking at it, I must be doing something right.

And if other photographers in the area are hating on my work, then like my radio dj friend told me, you’re doing it right. They are noticing you and your work… and it’s scaring them. So, they hate and make up rumors. And people tend to believe rumors. But I digress.

Normally my lens of choice is a long lens, but today I went with a shorter lens so that I could get closer while still getting in the whole plane. While there was a few times I missed the longer lens I was happy with what I was able to create with the short lens.

Now of all the years that I have been to this location, there has been two spots that have always interested me. But I have never got the time to work with either of these spots, until today. Thanks to our newest mentor photographer Maranda that we persuaded into being a model today I was able to create some great photographs in one of these spots.

Doesn't she look like an aircraft mechanic? Even has a trailer in the background.
Like I mentioned above Maranda is our newest mentor photographer and a great one at that.
